Analysis of Breeding Value of Kainong Series High-Oleic Peanut Germplasms
[Objective]The objective of this study was to analyze the utilization of high oleic acid peanut germplasms in the Kainong series and to clarify their breeding value and role in variety improvement.[Method]The method involved using seven high-oleic acid peanut germplasms from the Kainong series and their derived varieties as research subjects. The coefficient of variation of the main agronomic traits of the de-rived varieties was analyzed, and the breeding contribution values of the seven germplasm materials were cal-culated using the kinship coefficient.[Result]The results showed that as of February 2024,a total of 120 varieties had been developed using those seven germplasm materials, which had been utilized by 17 sci-entific research institutions and 26 breeding enterprises.Among them,105 varieties were high-oleic pea-nut varieties, accounting for 30.35%of the national high-oleic peanut varieties.According to the classifi-cation criteria for high-quality peanuts, there were 17 varieties with high oleic acid and high fat content, and one variety with high oleic acid, high fat,and high protein content. The analysis of 12 main agro-nomic traits from 120 derived varieties showed that the coefficient of variation ranged from 4.27%to 21.93%,with the highest coefficient of variation in the number of fruiting branches, followed by the total number of branching branches,at 21.93%and 20.81%,respectively.The lowest coefficient of variation was for the shelling percentage, followed by the growth period, both of which were less than 5%.The re-sults of the phylogenetic coefficient showed that the total contribution value of the seven high-oleic germ-plasms was 58.25,among which, the varieties developed from"0317-6"(Kainong 61)had the highest contribution value, with 44 and 21.75,respectively,followed by"0317-6A"(Kainong 176),with 38 and 17.75,respectively.[Conclusion]In conclusion, among the seven high oleic acid peanut germ-plasms of the Kainong series,"0317-6"and"0317-6A"have been widely utilized and have become the core high-oleic peanut stone parents."0317-15"(Kainong 1715)and"0317-27"(Kainong 71)have also been widely used as parents and have become important high-oleic peanut stone parents.
