Effects of Citrus junos cv.'Shuzhen No.1'on Tree Growth and Fruit Quality of 'Harumi'
[Objective]To investigate the effect of the new citrus rootstock'Shuzhen No.1'on the growth and fruit quality of'Harumi',and provide theoretical data support for its application.[Method]The growth, leaf physiological and biochemical characteristics, mineral nutrient contents, endogenous hor-mone levels, fruit yield, and quality were evaluated in four-year-old trees resulting from three different graft combinations, utilizing'Shuzhen No.1','Ziyang Xiangcheng',and Citrus reticulata as rootstocks, with'Harumi'as the scion.[Result]No significant differences were observed in the levels of soluble sugar, soluble starch and IAA content in leaves,as well as in single plant yield, fruit weight,longitudi-nal and transverse diameter, and fruit shape index among the three rootstock combinations. In the Harumi/Shuzhen No.1 combination, the length of spring, summer and autumn shoots were 17.70,22.88 and 15.18 cm,respectively, all of which were higher than the other two rootstock combinations in terms of spring shoot length. The content of N(2.49%),K(1.52%),and ZR(1.84 ng/g)in leaves of Harumi/Shuzhen No.1 were significantly higher than the other two combinations. The soluble solids content in the fruit of'Harumi'grafted onto'Shuzhen No.1'was 12.24%,which was significantly higher than that of'Harumi'grafted onto C.reticulata, and the difference was not significant with that of'Harumi'grafted onto'Ziyang Xiangcheng'.[Conclusion]'Shuzhen No.1'is suitable for use as a citrus rootstock in Sich-uan and Chongqing areas.
