Resistance Identification and Evaluation of Hulless Barley Germplasm Resources to Leaf Stripe Disease
[Objective]The aim of this study is to elucidate the variance in resistance to leaf stripe disease among diverse barley germplasm resources and to screen barley resources with excellent resistance to leaf stripe disease.[Method]Between 2016 and 2022,a comprehensive resistance identi-fication for leaf stripe disease was conducted on 130 barley germplasm resources. This involved a combi-nation of field disease resistance identification, which was carried out three times across three different locations over a period of three years, and indoor artificial inoculation resistance identification using two isolates of Pyrenophora graminea.[Result]The field resistance identification results indicated that 103 germplasm resources demonstrated resistance across five experimental sites over three years, while 27 re-sources exhibited varying levels of disease susceptibility, representing 79.23%and 20.77%of the total resources, respectively. The indoor resistance identification results revealed that 87 resources showed re-sistance and 43 resources showed susceptibility, constituting 66.92%and 33.08%of the total resources, respectively.[Conclusion]A comprehensive analysis of both field and indoor resistance identification outcomes indicated that 62 barley germplasm resources possess resistance to leaf stripe disease. This in-cludes 4 immune resources,20 highly resistant resources, and 38 moderately resistant resources, which account for 3.08%,15.38%,and 29.23%of the total resources,respectively.Conversely,68 resources exhibited susceptibility, comprising 17 moderately susceptible resources and 51 highly susceptible re-sources,representing 13.08%and 39.23%of the total resources, respectively.
