Using callus induced from Catharanthus roseus leaves as experimental materials, the effects of rotating rates, primarily cultured callus amounts, sucrose concentrations and additional plant hormones on the proliferation of suspension cultured callus were investigated. The results showed that the callus of C.roseus grew with optimal proliferous rate when cultured in liqudid MS medium with 0.5mg/L 6-BA,0.5mg/L 2,4-D and 40 mg/L Vc,when 3g callus inoculated in 50mL mediun, rotating at 120rpm,with 15g/L sucrose and additional 0.5mg/L NAA in medium. The results provide the base for estalishment of high efficient suspension cultured cell of C.roseus.
