Research Status and Hotspots of Rhododendron Based on Bibliometric Analysis
Rhododendron is a world-renowned ornamental flower, and has attracted much attention due to its important ornamental and economic value.Based on the core collection of Web of Science and CNKI database,we used CiteSpace software to analyze the current research of Rhododendron at home and abroad in the past two decades, summarizing the cutting-edge hotspots and development trends of it.Our results show that:(1)In the past twenty years, the research papers on Rhododendron are mainly in English, and the number of English research papers on Rhododendron shows a rapid increase, while the number of Chi-nese papers shows a rapid increase in the first decade but a fluctuating trend in the past decade.(2)America contributes the most to the publication of Rhododendron articles, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences publishes the most articles in Chinese and English.Xun Chen and Peter W.Fritsch are the leading core authors in publishing Chinese and English articles on Rhododendron research,respectively.(3)Chinese and English literature have different concerns earlier in the field of Rhododendron.Chinese literature mainly focuses on variety breeding, cutting cultivation and resistance, while English literature pays more attention to the implementation of Rhododendron variety breeding at the molecular level and the protection of Rhododendron wild resources. In recent years, the response and variety breeding of Rhodo-dendron under global climate change have become research hotspots.Based on current progress,we sug-gest that the response and resistance breeding of Rhododendron under global change should be strength-ened in the future work.
