Aesthetic effect of all-ceramic zirconia crown in anterior teeth restoration and the influence on gingival sulcus inflammatory response
Objective:To analyze the aesthetic effect of all-ceramic zirconia crowns in anterior teeth restoration and the influence on gingival sulcus inflammatory response. Methods:A total of 84 patients(176 teeth)who underwent anterior teeth restoration in the hospital from November 2019 to November 2021 were selected as the study subjects.According to the treatment method, the subjects were assigned to the observation group(42 cases,92 teeth)and the control group(42 cases,84 teeth). The control group was treated with gold alloy porcelain fused metal crowns, while the observation group was treated with all-ceramic zirconia crowns.Aesthetic effects(margin fitness, color of the restorations, anatomical shape, fracture of the restorations, and gingival condition)in the two groups were evaluated according to the standards developed by California Dental Association.Masticatory efficiencies in the two groups before restoration and 2 months after restoration was calculated.Inflammatory factors, such as tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6),and C-reactive protein(CRP)levels in the gingival crevicular fluid were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The curative effect and the incidence of complications were evaluated. Results:After restoration, the aesthetic effect in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group(P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in mastication efficiency and TNF-α,IL-6,and CRP levels in gingival crevicular fluid between the groups before restoration(P>0.05).After restoration, all of these indicators increased(P<0.05).The masticatory efficiency of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).TNF-α,IL-6,and CRP levels in the gingival crevicular fluid were lower than in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of complications between the groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:All-ceramic zirconia crowns can achieve good effects in anterior teeth restoration, with advantages in improving aesthetic effect, masticatory ability, and inflammatory reaction.
