Effect of pneumatic massage therapy instrument combined with active functional exercise in postoperative patients with lower limb fractures
Objective:To study the effect of pneumatic massage therapy instrument combined with active functional exercise in postoperative patients with lower limb fractures. Methods:A total of 110 patients with lower limb fractures who underwent surgical treatment from March 2021 to March 2022 were admitted to our hospital as study subjects, and the patients were divided into control and observation groups using the random number table method, with 55 cases in each group. The control group took active functional exercise after surgery, and the observation group in the control group was based on combined pressure massage therapy instrument. The two groups were compared in terms of the degree of swelling of the affected limb after 2 weeks of intervention, the circumference of the affected limb and the mobility of the affected ankle joint before and after 2 weeks of intervention, the visual analogue score of pain(VAS),the score of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society Scale(AOFAS),the score of the simplified Fugl-Meyer Motor Function Scale(FAM),the venous blood flow velocity of the lower limb[the mean blood flow velocity of the external iliac vein(Vm),the femoral vein Vm,popliteal vein Vm],and the incidence of deep vein thrombosis(DVT).Results:After 2 weeks of intervention, the swelling of the affected limb in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05);the circumference of the affected limb in the observation group was smaller than that in the control group, and the mobility of the affected ankle joint was greater than that in the control group(P<0.05);the VAS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the AOFAS and FAM scores were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05);the external iliac vein Vm,femoral Vm,femoral vein Vm,popliteal vein Vm were higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference of the incidence of DVT between the observation group and the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion:Pneumatic massage therapy instrument combined with active functional exercise can effectively relieve the degree of swelling of the affected limb, restore joint mobility, improve clinical symptoms and regulate the venous blood flow rate of the lower limb in the treatment of postoperative patients with lower limb fractures.
