Application analysis of botox type A combined with 5-fluorouracil in the treatment of adult keloid
Objective:To investigate the efficacy and safety of Botulinum Toxin A(BTX-A)combined with 5-Fluorouracil(5-FU)in the treatment of adult keloids. Methods:A total of 72 patients with keloid treated in our hospital from March 2018 to September 2022 were selected and divided into study group and control group according to random number method, with 36 cases in each group. The control group was given local injection of 5-FU and relapsed betamethasone injection. The study group was treated with local injection of BTX-A and 5-FU.After 16 w of treatment, the reduction of keloid volume was analyzed and the total effective rate and itching degree of the two groups were compared by Visual Analogue Scale(VAS).After 6 months of follow-up,the recurrence rate and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared. Results:The volume of keloid was reduced in both groups after treatment. The total effective rate of study group and control group was 97.22%and 91.67%,respectively,with no difference between groups(P>0.05).VAS score after treatment was lower in both groups than before treatment, and VAS score after treatment in study group was lower than that in control group(P<0.05).The recurrence rates of the study group and the control group were 2.78%and 8.33%,respectively,after 6 months of follow-up(P>0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in study group was significantly lower than that in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Botox A combined with 5-fluorouracil can effectively treat adult post-traumatic keloid, and the recurrence rate and the incidence of adverse reactions are low.
