Correlation between the expression of CCL18,TIMP-1,and Apelin in serum and the severity of knee osteoarthritis
Objective:To explore the relationship between serum CC-chemokine ligand 18(CCL18),tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1(TIMP-1),APJ endogenous ligand(Apelin)expression, and correlation of knee osteoarthritis severity. Methods:A total of 74 cases of patients with knee osteoarthritis and 100 cases of health personnel admitted to our hospital from October 2021 to October 2022 were selected.Serum levels of CCL18,TIMP-1,and Apelin were measured by ELISA,and the severity of knee osteoarthritis was evaluated by Kellgren Lawrence(KL)scale. The correlation between serum CCL18,TIMP-1,Apelin,and the severity of knee osteoarthritis was analyzed. Results:Compared with the control group, the level of CCL18 and Apelin in KL-2,KL-3,and KL-4 patients in the study group was increased, while the level of TIMP-1 was decreased(P<0.05),and there was a linear correlation between CCL18,Apelin and TIMP-1 and WOMAC score.CCL18,TIMP-1,and Apelin were risk factors affecting the severity of knee osteoarthritis(P<0.05).Conclusion:The K-L grade of knee osteoarthritis is correlated with the expression of CCL18,TIMP-1,and Apelin in serum, which can be used as an important index for the early diagnosis and evaluation of the disease progression.
