Clinical comparison of all-ceramic high inlay and composite resin filling in the restoration of posterior tooth defects after root canal therapy
Objective:To compare the clinical effects of all-ceramic high inlay and composite resin filling on the restoration of posterior teeth defects after root canal therapy. Methods:A total of 60 patients with posterior tooth defects, who were admitted to the hospital from December 2019 to December 2021,was selected. They were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with 30 patients in each group. After root canal therapy, the two groups were treated with composite resin filling in the control group and all-ceramic high inlay in the observation group, with a total follow-up of 6 months. The gingival index and bleeding index of the two groups were compared before treatment and 6 months after treatment, and the repair effect(edge suitability, shape, surface texture and color matching),repair success rate and satisfaction of the two groups were compared 6 months after treatment. Results:Six months after treatment, the gingival index and bleeding index of the two groups decreased, and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).The proportion of A-grade edge fit, shape, surface texture and color matching in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The success rate of repair in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The total satisfaction of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with composite resin filling,all-ceramic high inlay is more effective in repairing tooth defects after root canal therapy than composite resin filling. It can reduce the gingival index and bleeding index of patients, and has higher success rate and satisfaction.
