Effects of modified Houpu Mahuang Decoction combined with acupoint application in the adjuvant treatment of children with bronchial asthma
Objective:To study the effects of modified Houpu Mahuang Decoction combined with acupoint application in the adjuvant treatment of children with bronchial asthma.Methods:A total of 80 children with bronchial asthma admitted to the hospital were enrolled as the research objects between June 2020 and December 2021.They were randomly were divided into observation group(n=40)and control group(n=40).Both groups were treated with glucocorticoid and other basic treatments,control group was treated with acupoint application,while observation group was treated with modified Houpu Mahuang Decoction on bais of control group.The clinical curative effect after treatment,changes in levels of immunoglobulins,eosinophils(EOS)and C-reactive protein(CRP)before and after treatment,and adverse reactions during treatment were compared between the two groups.Results:The response rate of treatment in observation group was higher than that in control group(95.00%vs 77.50%,P<0.05).After treatment,levels of immunoglobulin A and immunoglobulin G in observation group were higher than those in control group,while immunoglobulin E was lower than that in control group(P<0.05).The levels of EOS and CRP in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).The difference in incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:The clinical curative effect of modified Houpu Mahuang Decoction combined with acupoint application is significant on children with bronchial asthma,which can effectively improve immune system,reduce EOS and CRP levels,with fewer adverse reactions.
