Comparative study of different root canal filling methods in the treatment of chronic pulpitis
Objective:To compare and analyze the effect of lateral compression root canal filling with cold gum and vertical compression root canal filling with hot gum in the treatment of chronic pulpitis. Methods:The clinical data of 132 patients with chronic pulpitis treated in our hospital from July 2020 to September 2022 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different filling methods, the patients were divided into control group(cold glue lateral compression root canal filling,n=63)and observation group(hot glue vertical compression root canal filling,n=69).The filling condition was observed by X-ray after operation.periodontal depth(PD)and Gingival index(GI)were recorded before and after operation. The pain degree was evaluated by Visual analog score(VAS).Results:The proportion of just filling in control group was 73.01%,and that in observation group was 89.85%.The filling in observation group was significantly better than that in control group(P<0.05).PD and GI of the two groups were significantly decreased, and PD and GI of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).VAS scores of the two groups decreased with the increase of time, and the 3d and 7dVAS scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The filling effect of vertical compression root canal filling with hot dental glue is better than that of lateral compression root canal filling with cold dental glue, which can significantly improve the periodontal index and reduce the degree of pain.
