Efficacy of Mometasone furoate nasal spray in the treatment of sinusitis with nasal polyps and its influence on mucosal tissue remodeling
Objective:To observe the efficacy of Mometasone furoate nasal spray in the treatment of sinusitis with nasal polyps(CRSwNP)and its effect on mucosal remodeling.Methods:A total of 60 patients with CRSwNP admitted to Guangxin District People's Hospital of Shangrao City,Jiangxi Province from January 2021 to December 2022 were included in the study and randomly divided into control group(n=30)and observation group(n=30).Both groups received open sinus surgery.After operation,the control group was treated with conventional antibiotics,and the observation group was treated with mometasone furoate nasal spray.Nasal mucosal epithelialization time,nasal ventilation recovery time and hospital stay were compared between the two groups.Mucosal remodeling and nasal conjunctivitis Quality of Life scale(RQLQ)scores were compared,and the efficacy and postoperative recurrence rate were compared between the two groups.Results:The time of nasal epithelization,recovery time of nasal ventilation and hospitalization in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of mucosal remodeling and RQLQ scale in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(96.67%vs 73.33%)(P<0.05),but the recurrence rate had no statistical significance(P>0.05).Conclusion:The use of Mometasone furoate nasal spray in the treatment of CRSwNP patients can improve the curative effect,promote the epithelization of nasal mucosa,improve the quality of life of patients,and have high clinical application value.
