Comparative study of volar universal locking plate and external fixation splint in the treatment of distal radius fracture
Objective:To investigate the effect and safety of palmar universal locking plate and external fixation splint on joint function of distal radius fracture.How:Eighty patients with distal radius fracture admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to January 2023 were selected and divided into observation group and control group according to different surgical methods.The observation group(n=42)was treated with palmar universal locking bone plate,while the control group(n=38)was treated with external fixation splint.The time of fracture line disappearance and callus occurrence in the two groups was observed and compared.Preoperative,postoperative 4w,postoperative 8w wrist ulnar declination Angle,palm inclination Angle,wrist motion(flexion and extension,rotation,adduction and abduction motion)and complications.Results:The occurrence time of callus and the disappearance time of fracture line in observation group were earlier than those in control group(P<0.05).The ulnar declination and palmar Angle of wrist joint in both groups were better than those before surgery 3 months after operation(P<0.05).The flexion and extension,rotation and adduction and abduction motion of wrist in both groups were better than those before surgery 3 months after surgery,and the flexion and extension,rotation and adduction and abduction motion of wrist in the observation group were better than those in the control group 3 months after surgery(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with external fixation splint,the choice of palmar universal locking plate for distal radius fracture is better in improving the wrist joint,shortening the time of fracture line disappearance and callus appearance.
