Application value of island flap in cosmetic repair of large facial soft tissue skin defects
Objective:To explore the application value of island flap in the cosmetic repair of large facial soft tissue skin defects. Methods:A total of 80 patients with large facial soft tissue skin defects undergoing cosmetic repair in the hospital were retrospectively analyzed between January and December 2021.According to different cosmetic repair methods, they were divided into routine repair group(n=36,free flap)and modified repair group(n=44,island flap). At 7 d after surgery, total response rates of treatment in the two groups were evaluated. The postoperative pain was assessed by visual analogue scale(VAS).The postoperative repair effect of flaps was evaluated by capillary response time and postoperative flap temperature. The total hospitalization time was recorded. At 14 d after surgery, scores of facial motion, muscle strength, sensation and appearance were evaluated and compared. Results:The total response rate of treatment in modified repair group was significantly higher than that in routine repair group(95.45%vs 80.56%,P<0.05).VAS score and capillary response time in modified repair group were shorter than those in routine repair group(P<0.05),skin flap temperature and scores of facial motion, muscle strength, sensation and appearance were higher than those in routine repair group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in postoperative hospitalization time between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Island flap has good repair effect in large facial soft tissue skin defects, and has better recovery of facial function and sensation.
