Comparative study on the application of single and continuous fascia iliaca compartment block in elderly patients before hip fracture surgery
Objective:To compare the preoperative application value of single and continuous fascia iliaca compartment block(FICB)in elderly patients with hip fracture(HF).Methods:A total of 80 elderly patients with HF in Yudu County Second People's Hospital were enrolled between May 2020 and December 2022.According to random number table method, they were divided into observation group(n=40)and control group(n=40).Before surgery, control group was given single FICB,while observation group was given continuous FICB.The block onset, pain degree at different time points, stress response indexes before and after surgery, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:There was no significant difference in response rate of sensory block in anterior and lateral femoral areas between the two groups(P>0.05).The onset time of sensory block in anterior and lateral femoral area in observation group was shorter than that in control group(P<0.05).At T1,T2 and T3,scores of visual analogue scale(VAS)in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).After surgery, levels of C-reactive protein(CRP),cortisol(COR)and interleukin-6(IL-6)in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Preoperative continuous FICB can shorten onset time of sensory block in anterior and lateral femoral areas in elderly patients with HF,relieve postoperative pain and improve stress response, with high safety.
