Endoscopic Evaluation of the Efficacy of Conventional Titanium Clips for Anastomotic Leakage Following Esophageal Cancer Surgery
Objective:To investigate the efficacy of endoscopic application of common titanium clips for anastomotic leakage following esophageal cancer surgery, and to assess its impact on serum indicators and prognosis. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on clinical data from 60 patients who experienced anastomotic leakage after esophageal cancer surgery at our hospital between May 2018 and May 2022.Based on differences in treatment approaches, patients were categorized into a control group(traditional conservative treatment,27 cases)and a study group(endoscopic application of common titanium clips,33 cases).Perioperative indicators, relevant laboratory tests(Leukocyte count,C-reactive protein, albumin, etc.),complications within one month after surgery, and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results:In the study group, the length of hospital stay, time to anastomotic healing, and drainage volume were significantly shorter than in the control group(P<0.05).Relevant laboratory indicators in the study group improved significantly compared to the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of complications after treatment was significantly lower in the study group than in the control group(P<0.05).Six months after treatment, the study group exhibited significantly higher quality of life compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Endoscopic application of common titanium clips for closure is effective in treating anastomotic leakage following esophageal cancer surgery. It reduces inflammatory responses, improves nutritional status, decreases complications, and enhances patients'daily lives.
