Effect of microecological preparations on nutritional status in neonates with necrotizing enterocolitis
Objective:To study the preventive effect of microecological preparations on neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC)and the impact on nutritional status in such neonates. Methods:A total of 80 neonates hospitalized in the hospital between July 2016 and August 2023 were divided into the control group(47 cases)and the observation group(33 cases)according to the treatment method. After 7 d of treatment, the occurrence of NEC,feeding condition, and treatment outcomes were recorded. The intestinal flora(total bacillus count, total coccus count, and ratio of the two)in the neonates were detected by microscopy. The albumin(Alb)and pre-albumin(PA)levels were detected by rate method and colorimetry. The levels of gastrointestinal hormones were detected by radioimmunoassay. Results:The incidence of NEC in the observation group was lower than in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of Alb and PA,total bacillus count, total bacterial count, the levels of gastrin and motilin, feeding status, and recovery time of birth weight in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the length of hospital stay(P>0.05).Conclusion:Microecological preparations can protect neonates from NEC to a certain degree. The preparations are conducive to improving gastrointestinal hormones and nutritional status.
