Comparison of filling effect, inflammation, and pain in patients with pulpitis using iRoot SP and AH PLUS in minimally invasive root canal therapy
Objective:To compare the effects of iRoot SP bioceramic root canal sealing paste(iRoot SP)and Denspar AH Plus root canal filling material(AH PLUS)on filling effect, inflammation, and pain in patients with pulpitis in minimally invasive root canal treatment. Methods:Eighty patients with pulpitis admitted to our hospital from January 2023 to June 2023 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group(n=40).In minimally invasive root canal therapy,AH PLUS was used in the control group and iRoot SP in the observation group. The filling effect was compared after 1 week of treatment.Tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),C-reactive protein(CRP),and Interleukin-6(IL-6)levels were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay before and after 1 week of treatment.Visual Analog Scale(VAS)was used to evaluate the pain degree of patients before treatment,12 h,24 h,and 72 h after treatment.Periodontal pocket depth(PD),gingival index(GI),and plaque index(PIL)were measured by periodontal probe before and after 1 week of treatment. The adverse reactions were observed and recorded during treatment. Results:The total fit rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).After 1 week of treatment,TNF-α,CRP,IL-6,12 h,24 h VAS scores, and PD,GI,and PIL were lower after 1 week of treatment in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:The filling effect of iRoot SP in minimally invasive root canal treatment of pulpitis patients is better, and it is more effective in improving inflammation, pain, and periodontal indexes.
