Application of carotid ultrasound in evaluating the degree of coronary lesions in patients with carotid plaque and its value in predicting the risk of cerebral infarction
Objective:To investigate the application of carotid artery ultrasound in the evaluation of the degree of coronary artery lesions in patients with carotid artery plaque and its value in predicting the risk of cerebral infarction. Methods:A total of 106 patients with Coronary Heart Disease(CHD)treated in our hospital from April 2021 to April 2023 were selected as the study objects, all of whom underwent carotid ultrasound and Coronary Angiography(CAG).According to the results of CAG examination, the patients were divided into single-vessel disease group(n=38),double-vessel disease group(n=36)and three-vessel disease group(n=32).Carotid atherosclerosis grade score, number of carotid plaque, vulnerable plaque and non-vulnerable plaque in patients with Gensini score of the three groups and different degrees of coronary artery stenosis were compared, and the incidence of cerebral infarction between patients with vulnerable plaque and patients with non-vulnerable plaque was compared. Results:With the increase of the number of lesions and Gensini score, the score of carotid atherosclerosis grade, the number of carotid plaque and the proportion of vulnerable plaque in CHD patients showed an increasing trend, while the proportion of non-vulnerable plaque showed a decreasing trend(P<0.05).The incidence of cerebral infarction in vulnerable plaque patients was higher than that in non-vulnerable plaque patients(P<0.05).Conclusion:Carotid artery ultrasound has a certain value in evaluating the degree of coronary artery lesions in patients with carotid artery plaque, and has a certain value in predicting the risk of short-term cerebral infarction, which can be used as an effective examination method for clinical diagnosis and prognosis assessment.
