Progress in diagnosis and treatment of alveolar proteinosis
Alveolar proteinosis is a rare lung disease in which surfactant accumulation in alveolar macrophages and distal airways leads to impaired gas exchange,resulting in dyspnea and hypoxemia.Since the first report in 1958,the clinical understanding of the pathogenesis,diagnosis and treatment of the disease has made great progress.This article reviews the pathogenesis,diagnosis and treatment of alveolar proteinosis.
