Comparison of clinical effects between mixed protamine human insulin injection and mixed protamine zinc recombinant human insulin lispro injection in the treatment of elderly patients with T2DM
Objective:To compare the clinical effects between Mixed Protamine Human Insulin Injection(Gansulin 40R)and Mixed Protamine Zinc Recombinant Human Insulin Lispro Injection(25R)in the treatment of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods:Sixty elderly patients with T2DM who received treatment in our hospital from January 2021 to January 2024 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group(25R,n=30)and an observation group(Gansulin 40R,n=30)using the envelope method. The levels of fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2-hour postprandial plasma glucose(2hPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbAlc),and fasting insulin(FINS)were measured using a biochemical analyzer before treatment and after 2 months of treatment.Insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR)was calculated, and the levels of total cholesterol(TC)and triglyceride(TG)were detected.Clinical efficacy and the incidence of hypoglycemia after 2 months of treatment were recorded. Results:After treatment, there were significant decreases in the levels of FPG,2hPG,HbAlc,FINS,HOMA-IR,TC,and TG in each group(P<0.05).The levels of FPG,2hPG,and HbAlc in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of FINS,HOMA-IR,TC,and TG were slightly lower than those in the control group, but the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The effective rate of the observation group was slightly higher than that of the control group(P>0.05).The incidence of hypoglycemia was slightly lower than that in the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion:Both Gansulin 40R and 25R are effective in the treatment of elderly patients with T2DM,but the former is more effective.
