Study on the efficacy and safety of camphorphenol and calcium hydroxide in patients with chronic pulpitis
Objective:To explore the efficacy of camphorphenol and calcium hydroxide in the treatment of chronic pulpitis. Methods:The 100 patients with chronic pulpitis admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to January 2022 were selected as the research object. The patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was filled with camphor phenol; The observation group was filled with calcium hydroxide. After one month of treatment, the clinical total effective rate, visual analogue scale(VAS)score and serum inflammatory factors before and after treatment for 7 days, dental function indexes(masticatory efficiency, bite force, gingival index)before and after treatment for 1 month, and the incidence of adverse reactions were evaluated and compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the VAS score, and the dental mobility score of the two groups decreased significantly, and the decrease of the observation group was significantly greater than that of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the dental functions of the two groups, namely, masticatory efficiency, bite force and gingival index, were significantly improved, and the improvement range of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-8 in both groups showed a downward trend, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of calcium hydroxide in the treatment of chronic pulpitis can improve the clinic.
