Clinical value of serum testosterone and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio in screening for benign prostatic hyperplasia
Objective:To explore the clinical value of serum testosterone(T)and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio(NLR)in screening for benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods:30 BPH patients diagnosed in our hospital from February 2023 to February 2024 were selected as the observation group, and another 30 healthy males who underwent physical examinations in our hospital from February 2023 to February 2024 were selected as the control group.Collect blood samples from two groups, detect serum T levels and NLR,and conduct comparative analysis; And ROC curves were used to analyze the diagnostic value of serum T and NLR levels for BPH.Results:The serum T and NLR levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that serum T and NLR were associated with BPH(P<0.05).According to ROC curve analysis, both serum T and NLR have good diagnostic value for BPH,and the AUC of combined detection for diagnosing BPH is higher than that of individual tests(P<0.05).Conclusion:Both serum T and NLR have certain diagnostic value for BPH,and the combined detection has high diagnostic value, which can be used as a clinical auxiliary screening indicator for BPH.
