Efficacy of enhanced recovery after surgery in elderly laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair and its influence on patient satisfaction
Objective:To explore the efficacy of enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)in elderly laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair and its influence on patient satisfaction. Methods:Sixty patients with inguinal hernia in the hospital were selected from January 2023 to June 2023 as the research subjects, and were divided into study group and control group by random number table method,30 cases in each group. The control group received routine laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair surgery, while the study group received laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair surgery with the support of ERAS concept. The perioperative indicators, repair recurrence rate, patient satisfaction, and incidence rates of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups of patients. The quality of life[36-item Short-Form Health Survey(SF-36)]in the two groups of patients at 1 day before treatment and 1 week after treatment was recorded and compared. Results:The first ambulation time, duration of pain, and hospital stay in the study group were significantly shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).The patient satisfaction in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).At 1 week after treatment, the SF-36 score in both groups of patients was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the study group had significantly higher score(P<0.05).There were no obvious differences in the repair recurrence rate and incidence rates of adverse reactions between the two groups of patients(P>0.05).Conclusion:The implementation of ERAS treatment in laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair surgery is helpful for the postoperative rehabilitation process of patients, and can also improve patient satisfaction and quality of life.
