Comparative analysis of abdominal X-ray and ultrasonography in diagnosis of acute intestinal obstruction in children
Objective:To analyze the efficacy of ultrasonography and abdominal X-ray in the clinical diagnosis of acute intestinal obstruction in children.Methods:74 children with acute intestinal obstruction admitted to the emergency department of our hospital from January 2022 to November 2023 were selected as the study objects. After emergency admission, all the children received ultrasound examination and abdominal X-ray examination respectively. The clinical comprehensive diagnosis results were used as the"gold standard"to observe and compare the imaging findings of ultrasound and abdominal X-ray.To analyze and compare the diagnostic effect of two kinds of examination on acute intestinal obstruction. Results:After comprehensive clinical diagnosis, the obstruction sites of 74 patients in this study were as follows:small intestine obstruction in 41 cases, colonic obstruction in 33 cases;Intestinal strangulation occurred in 17 cases. The causes of intestinal obstruction were intestinal adhesion in 30 cases, hernia in 7 cases, intussusception in 15 cases, fecalith in 17 cases and intestinal torsion in 5 cases. The total coincidence rate of abdominal plain X-ray was higher than that of ultrasound, but there was no significant difference(P>0.05).The detection rate of intestinal strangulation by abdominal X-ray was significantly lower than that by ultrasonography(P<0.05).The total diagnostic coincidence rate of ultrasonic examination for the cause of intestinal obstruction was 70.27%(52/74),which was significantly higher than that of abdominal X-ray film(P<0.05).Conclusion:Ultrasonography is better than plain abdominal X-ray in detecting the etiology and strangulation of children with acute ileus, which can improve the comprehensive imaging information for clinical diagnosis and treatment of children with acute ileus.
