Relationship between vitamin content in male seminal plasma and semen quality and sex hormone level
Objectives:To investigate the relationship between vitamin content in male seminal plasma and semen quality and sex hormone levels. Methods:A total of 80 male infertility patients who were admitted to our hospital from January 2023 to December 2023 were selected as the study objects. The plasma vitamin D level of patients was detected, and the patients were divided into high level group and low level group according to the plasma vitamin D level. The general data, semen quality and sex hormone levels of the two groups were analyzed and compared.Spearson correlation was used to analyze the relationship between vitamin D content in seminal plasma and semen quality and sex hormone levels. Results:There was no significant difference in serum PRL and E2 levels between the two groups(P>0.05).The sperm concentration,PR percentage, total sperm motility and serum T level in high level group were significantly higher than those in low level group(P<0.05).Serum FSH and LH levels in high level group were significantly lower than those in low level group(P<0.05).According to Pearson correlation analysis, serum vitamin D content was positively correlated with sperm concentration, percentage of PR,total sperm motility and serum T level(P>0.05),and negatively correlated with serum FSH and LH levels(P>0.05).Conclusion:The serum vitamin D content was significantly correlated with sperm concentration,PR percentage, total sperm motility, serum T,FSH,LH levels, which reflected the spermatogenic function of testis to a certain extent.
