Relationship between WISC-IV scores and sensory integration function, psychological behaviors in children with sensory integration dysfunction
Objective:To explore and analyze the relationship between scores of Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children(WISC-IV)and sensory integration function, psychological behaviors in children with sensory integration dysfunction. Methods:A total of 100 children with sensory integration dysfunction in our hospital from July 2022 to August 2023 were selected.A total of 100 children undergoing physical examination were enrolled as healthy control group. The intelligence of all children was evaluated by WISC-IV.The general data of children and family members, sensory integration function and psychological behaviors were investigated. The correlation between WISC-IV scores and sensory integration function, psychological behaviors was analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient, and influencing factors of sensory integration dysfunction were analyzed by multivariate Logistic regression analysis.Results:WISC-IV scores and average score of sensory integration function in children with sensory integration dysfunction were lower than those in healthy control group, and score of Parent Symptom Questionnaire(PSQ)was higher than that in healthy control group(P<0.05).There were significant differences in WISC-IV scores among children with different age, parental education level, monthly family income, premature infants,Achenbach children behavior scale, pregestational body mass index(BMI)and cognition to sensory integration dysfunction(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that increase of sensory integration ability(OR=2.298)and decrease of psychological behaviors(OR=2.130)were influencing factors of WISC-IV results(P<0.05).The results of Pearson correlation analysis showed that WISC-IV score was positively correlated with score of sensory integration function(r=0.668,P<0.05),while negatively correlated with score of psychological behaviors(r=-0.722,P<0.05).Conclusions:WISC-IV score is positively correlated with score of sensory integration function, while negatively correlated with scores of psychological behaviors in children sensory integration dysfunction.Sensory integration function and psychological behaviors are influencing factors of WISC-IV scores.
