Effect of nasal high flow humidified oxygen therapy on inflammatory response in patients with severe pneumonia infection
Objective:To investigate the effect of nasal high-flow humidifying oxygen therapy on inflammation in patients with severe pneumonia infection.Methods:80 patients with severe pneumonia infection admitted to our hospital from September 2022 to September 2023 were selected as the study objects.According to random number table method, the patients were divided into control group and study group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received nasal continuous positive airway pressure(CPAP).The study group received nasal high flow humidifying oxygen therapy. After 7 days of treatment, clinical data of the two groups of patients were collected, and statistical software was used to process the data, and the levels of inflammatory factors, blood gas analysis indexes and the occurrence of complications were analyzed and compared between the two groups before and 7 days after treatment. Results:Compared with the control group, the levels of inflammatory factors such as C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6)and procalcitonin(PCT)in the study group were significantly reduced after treatment(P<0.05).The respiratory rate(RR)level of the study group after treatment was significantly lower than those of the control group. The levels of partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2)and oxygenation index(OI)were significantly higher than those of control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:The application of nasal high-flow humidified oxygen therapy in the treatment of severe pneumonia infection can reduce the inflammatory response of patients, improve the blood gas analysis index, and does not increase the risk of complications, and has good safety.
