Correlation of ApoA-1,Apo-B and Apo-A1/Apo-B with carotid atherosclerosis in patients with ischemic stroke
Objective:To investigate the correlation between apolipoprotein(ApoA)-1,Apo-B and Apo-A1/Apo-B and carotid atherosclerosis(CAS)in patients with ischemic stroke. Methods:Totally 76 patients with ischemic stroke were admitted to Dexing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Jiangxi Province from August 2022 to August 2024.According to the carotid intima-media thickness(IMT),the above patients were divided into non-CAS group(16 cases),IMT thickening group(12 cases)and plaque group(48 cases). The levels of ApoA-1 and Apo-B in the three groups were detected, and the Apo-A1/Apo-B ratio was calculated, and the differences were analyzed. Results:There was no statistical significance in serum ApoA-1 level among the three groups(P>0.05).Serum Apo-B level successively from low to high revealed non-CAS group,IMT thickening group and plaque group, and Apo-A1/Apo-B ratio from low to high was manifested as plaque group,IMT thickening group and CAS group(P<0.05).Spearman correlation analysis indicated that Apo-B level was positively correlated with IMT(r=0.647,P<0.001)and Apo-A1/Apo-B level was negatively correlated with IMT(r=-0.562,P<0.001)in patients with ischemic stroke. Conclusion:The level of serum Apo-B in patients with ischemic stroke complicated with CAS is increased while the Apo-A1/Apo-B ratio is decreased. The changes of the two levels are involved in the formation of CAS in patients and are closely related to IMT.
