With the prosperous development of Chinese academic journals and the promotion of open access publish-ing,the metadata of Chinese academic journal articles has become an important resource,asset,and even cap-ital.This paper expounds the concept and associated theories of metadata,analyzes the opening status of metadata and full text of Chinese academic journal articles,and discusses the opening of metadata of Chinese academic jour-nal articles,the linking methods for accessing full-text content from journal websites and the reusing directions for metadata of Chinese academic journal articles in combination with the initially completed open Chinese academic journal article database project.
