From the end of 2020 to February 2021,Chengdu Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and the School of Archaeology and Museology of Sichuan University jointly excavated the Xiwujian site in Chongzhou, revealing seven sections of ditches(comprising at least two water channels),two ash pits, three pillar holes, and one accumulation of tile debris.A large number of porcelains such as bowls, plates, saucers, jars and pots were unearthed, together with kiln furniture and a small quantity of pottery shards and tiles. Most of the porcelains were produced by local kilns of the Qiong kiln system.Although no remnants related to the kiln sites were found, the possibility cannot be ruled out that there are potential kiln sites for producing these ceramics in the surrounding areas of the site. The age of the site ranges from the prosperous phase to the middle and late periods of the Tang Dynasty. The excavation of this site provides new data for studying the Tang Dynasty's porcelain industry, local societal life, and production in the western Sichuan Plain.
