Degradation of methylene blue wastewater by blast furnace slag heterogeneous fenton-like reaction
In this paper, the simulated methylene blue wastewater was degraded by the method of heterogeneous Fenton using the blast furnace slag as catalyst.Under the condition of illumination, the influence of the amount of blast furnace slag, the amount of H2O2,pH,reaction time and other factors on the chromaticity of the simulated wastewater and the removal rate of COD were investigated. The experimental results show that the removal efficien-cy under light condition is better than that without light.Under light condition, the optimal conditions of the system are as follows:pH=3,the amount of blast furnace slag is 0.1 g/100 mL,H2O2(mass fraction 30%)is 0.2 mL/100 mL,and the reaction time is 2 h.The decolorization rate of methylene blue wastewater and the removal rate of COD can reach 100%.The kinetics study shows that the reaction rate under illumination condition is higher than that without illumination condition, and both reaction rates are more consistent with the quasi-second-order kinetics model.
