Fault analysis and improvement of alkali circulation pump in cleaning section
This paper analyzes and explains the failures that occur in the circulation pump of a continuous annealing u-nit during cleaning section production, such as leaks from mechanical seals, damage to bearing of pump body, and fracture of pump shaft. In order to solve these problems, the specific reasons for these three types of failures are an-alyzed in detail.Leakage from mechanical seals is caused by impurities in the alkali liquid leading to damage to the graphite rings of the mechanical seals and contamination entering the sealing process.Bearing damage of pump body is due to lubrication issues caused by alkali liquid entering the bearing box and inappropriate selection of bearings in the original design.Fracture of pump shaft is caused by frequent damage to the circulation pump's bearings leading to imbalanced rotation after bearing failure.Effective improvement measures are taken to address these main fail-ures:installing water retaining rings between the circulation pump's sealing elements and bearing box, selecting an-gular contact ball bearings capable of withstanding axial play, changing to dual-bearings at the rear, and improving the assembly precision and cleanliness of the circulation pump. After implementing these improvements, the prob-lems with the circulation pump are resolved, resulting in a significant increase in the service life of the pump.
