Caregiving Burden Profile of the Family Caregivers of Beijing Disabled Elderly:Patterns and Influencing Factors
We use data from the 2018 Beijing Accurate Support Demand Survey to explore the caregiving burden patterns of family caregivers of disabled elderly by latent class analysis. We iden-tify five kinds of patterns:full burden(17.7%),physical and mental health damage(12.8%),role conflict(14.4%),only economic burden(19.2%),and low burden(35.9%).Multinomial logistic regression analysis is further adapted to analyze the influencing factors to the caregiving burden patterns. Results show that the degree of disability of the elderly, the self-rated health status of the elderly, and the caregivers' care intensity(time of care per day)are all important influencing factors.Caregiving resources have a significant effect on restraining caregiving bur-den,but the impact is different on different burden patterns. At last,we propose to provide inte-grated support services for family caregivers and both the care needs of the elderly and the resource status of caregivers should be taken into account when identifying the support objects.
