Promoting or Suppressing:The Digital Inclusion and Subjective Well-being of Older People in Rural China
In the context of active aging and digital rural development,high-quality digital inclusion is a critical approach for enhancing the quality of life of rural older adults.Utilizing data from the 2018 China Longitudinal Aging Social Survey(CLASS),this paper employs the probit regression model, instrumental variable method, propensity score matching method, and mediating effect model to analyze the impact and mechanism of digital inclusion on the subjective well-being of rural older adults. The research reveals that digital inclusion can significantly improve the subjective well-being level of rural older adults, with digital access and digital skills identified as the most important factors.Mechanism analysis indicates that aging attitude and the friend network play a mediating role, enhancing subjective well-being by improving age identity and expanding social networks, while community participation has a concealing effect, reducing subjective well-being.
