In this paper,the effects of Chinese herbal additives on the growth performance,immune function and disease prevention of Eriocheir sinensis have been reviewed.The usage,existing problems in practical and application prospect were discussed.The utilization of Chinese herbal additives,as an alternative to antibiotics and chemicals,represents a pivotal approach towards attaining environmentally-friendly and sustainable development within the aquaculture industry.It is suggested that more attention should be paid to the study of the mechanism of various Chinese herbs.The production and preparation technology of Chinese herbs also require be optimized to extract the effective ingredients.In order to avoid the negative effects of unknown ingredients,Chinese herbal preparations were recommended to replace Chinese herbs.In addition,a perfect quality standard of plant extract products need to be established urgently to standardize production.
