Effects of modified Xiebai Powder on serum TGF-β1and PCT levels in patients with acute radiation pneumonia of lung cancer(lung heat exuberance syndrome)
Objective:To observe the effects of modified Xiebai Powder on levels of serum transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)and procalcitonin(PCT)in patients with acute radiation pneumonia(ARP)of lung cancer(lung heat exuberance syndrome).Methods:A total of 98patients with ARP of lung cancer(lung heat exuberance syndrome)admitted to the hospital were enrolled and randomly divided into control group and study group between August 2020and November 2022,49cases in each group.The control group was treated with routine western medicine,while study group was additionally treated with modified Xie-bai Powder.All were treated for 2weeks.The clinical curative effect,scores of TCM symptoms(shortness of breath,chest pain,cough,expectoration),blood oxygen indexes[oxygen partial pressure(PaO2),oxygenation index(OI)],serum inflammatory factors(serum TGF-β1,PCT),quality of life(SF-36)and occurrence of adverse reactions in the two groups were compared.Results:After treatment,total response rate of study group was higher than that of control group(93.88％vs 75.51％,P＜0.05).After treatment,scores of TCM symptoms in study group were lower than those in control group(P＜0.05),levels of PaO2 and OI were higher than those in control group(P＜O.05),levels of serum TGF-β1and PCT were lower than those in con-trol group(P＜0.05),and SF-36score was better than that in control group(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05),and there were no significant serious adverse reactions in either group.Conclusion:The curative effect of modified Xiebai Powder is good on patients with ARP of lung cancer(lung heat exuber-ance syndrome),which can improve curative effect,relieve TCM symptoms,improve inflammatory response and quality of life,with good safety.
