The effect of Zheng's tendon management technique based on the concept of "emphasizing muscles and bones" on the efficacy of elderly patients with distal radius fractures
Objective:To observe the effects of Zheng's tendon management on wrist joint function, wrist joint mobility, grip strength and finger pinch strength in elderly patients with distal radius fracture based on the concept of"the importance of tendon and bone".Methods:Choose 80patients with distal radius fractures that were treated in our hospital between June 2020and June 2023.Using a random number table, divide the cases into an observation group and a control group, with 40cases in each. Both groups of patients got fracture reduction and external fixation with splints as therapy. The control group received conventional func-tional exercise, whereas the observation group received Zheng's tendon manipulation therapy based on the results of the control group.Compare the wrist joint function score(PRWE),arm shoulder and hand disability score(DASH),wrist joint range of motion, grip strength, and finger grip strength of the two groups before and after therapy. Results:There was no statistically sig-nificant difference between the two groups of patients in terms of wrist joint function score(PRWE),arm, shoulder, and hand disability score(DASH),wrist joint mobility, grip strength, and finger grasp strength before therapy(P>0.05).When com-pared to prior therapy, the PRWE and DASH ratings of the two groups of patients were significantly lower, with a statistically sig-nificant difference(P<0.05).The wrist joint flexion and extension range of motion, ulnar radial deviation range of motion, and forearm pronation and pronation range of motion were greatly improved in both groups, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The grip strength and finger grip strength of the two groups of patients dramatically increased, with a statistically signifi-cant difference(P<O.05).When compared to the control group, the observation group showed statistically significant improve-ments in PRWE score,DASH score, wrist flexion and extension range of motion, ulnar radial deviation range of motion, forearm pronation and pronation range of motion, grip strength, and finger grip strength(P<0.05).Conclusion:The Zheng's tendon man-agement technique based on the concept of emphasizing both muscles and bones can improve wrist joint mobility, promote muscle strength recovery, improve wrist joint function, and improve patient quality of life in elderly patients with distal radius fractures, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
