Efficacy of Banxia Baizhu Tianma decoction combined with Tongqiao Huoxue decoction on intermingled phlegm and blood stasis type of hypertension with carotid plaques and its influence on TCM syndromes scores and blood lipid metabolism
To explore the efficacy of Banxia Baizhu Tianma decoction combined with Tongqiao Huoxue decoction in the treat-ment of intermingled phlegm and blood stasis type of hypertension(HTN)with carotid plaques and the influence on TCM syn-dromes scores and blood lipid metabolism.Methods:62patients with HTN and carotid plaques in our hospital from January 2021to June 2022were selected.According to the random number table method,the patients were divided into treatment group(n=31)and control group(n=31).Both groups were given basic treatment,and the control group was treated with western medicine while the treatment group was given western medicine+Banxia Baizhu Tianma decoction with Tongqiao Huoxue decoction.The clinical efficacy after treatment and TCM symptoms scores,blood pressure monitoring,blood lipids levels,ultrasound examination[carotid intima-media thickness(IMT),Grouse score]and laboratory indicators[homocysteine(Hcy),C-reactive protein(CRP)]before and after treatment were compared.Results:After 4courses of treatment,the clinical efficacy in treatment group was 28/30(90.32%),which was higher than 22/31(70.97%)in control group(P＜0.05).The TCM syndromes scores,sys-tolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),IMT,Crouse score,serum Hcy and CRP were decreased in the two groups(P＜0.05),and the de-creases were higher in treatment group(P＜0.05).The high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)in both groups was in-creased(P＜0.05),and the increase was higher in treatment group than that in control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Banxia Baizhu Tianma decoction combined with Tongqiao Huoxue decoction can effectively promote the plaque elimination by regulating blood lipid metabolism and blood pressure in treating intermingled phlegm and blood stasis type of HTN with carotid plaques,thereby improving the clinical symptoms of patients.
