Effects of gastroscopic injection assisted with Liqi Jianpi Decoction on liver function and gastrointestinal bleeding in patients with esophageal and gastroesophageal varices of cirrhosis
Objective To explore the effects of gastroscopic injection assisted with Liqi Jianpi Decoction on liver function and gastrointestinal bleeding in patients with esophageal and gastroesophageal varices(EGV)of cirrhosis. Methods A total of 74patients with EGV admitted to the hospital were enrolled between January 2020and December 2022.According to random num-ber table method, they were divided into study group and control group,37cases in each group. The control group was given gas-troscopic injection of tissue adhesive, while study group was additionally treated with Liqi Jianpi Decoction for 4weeks.After treat-ment,clinical curative effect, scores of TCM syndromes and Child-Pugh grading, levels of serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate transaminase(AST),total bilirubin(TBiL)and albumin(Alb)before and after treatment, incidence of gas-trointestinal bleeding after 6months of follow-up and the occurrence of adverse events during treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The total response rate of study group was significantly higher than that of control group(91.89%vs 72.97%,P<0.05).After treatment, scores of TCM syndromes and Child-Pugh grading in study group were significantly lower than those in control group(P<0.05).The levels of ALT,AST and TBiL in study group were significantly lower than those in control group, while Alb was significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.05).At 1month and 3months after treatment, incidence of gastrointestinal bleeding in study group was 5.41%and 10.81%,significantly lower than that in control group(21.62%,29.73%,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse events between study group and control group(29.73%vs 13.51%,P>0.05).Conclusion Gastroscopic injection assisted with Liqi Jianpi Decoction can improve liver function and reduce the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding in patients with EGV.
