Effect of Qingwei Baidu Decoction combined with Compound Huangqin mouthwash on periodontal indexes,IL-17,TNF-α and sICAM-1in gingivitis caused by orthodontics
OBJECTIVETo study the impact of Qingwei Baidu decoction combined with Compound Huangqi mouthwash on periodontal index and IL-17,TNF-α and sICAM-1in gingivitis caused by orthodontics.METHODS The clinical data of 112patients with gingivitis caused by orthodontics who were treated in the Department of Stomatology of our hospital from Septem-ber 2020to September 2022were retrospectively analyzed.According to the treatment methods,they were divided into a control group(n=54)and an observation group(n=58).In the control group,treatment involved the administration of compound Huan-gqin gargle,while the observation group received a combination of Qingwei Baidu decoction along with compound Huangqin gar-gle.After 4weeks of continuous treatment,the therapeutic effect,gingival redness and swelling degree,pain degree,periodontal indexes[gingival index(GI),sulcus bleeding index(SBI),plaque index(PLI)],levels of inflammatory factor-17(IL-17),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),soluble interstitial cell adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1)in gingival crevicular fluid and adverse reactions were compared between two sample groups.RESULTS The observation group exhibited a significantly higher efficacy rate of 94.83％,surpassing the control group with a rate of 75.93％(P＜0.05).Following the treatment,there was a more notable disparity in the alleviation of gingival redness,swelling,and pain symptoms observed in the patients from the obser-vation group(P＜0.05).In comparison to the baseline measurements,there was a marked decrease in the assessment scores of periodontal indicators GI,SBI,PLI,as well as the inflammatory factor content in gingival crevicular fluid for both patient groups after treatment and the reduction was notably more significant in the observation group(P＜0.05).Throughout the treatment process,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the control group 9.26％and the obser-vation group 10.34％(P＞0.05).CONCLUSION Qingwei Baidu decoction combined with Compound Huangqin mouthwash is ef-fective in the treatment of gingivitis caused by orthodontics.It can relieve gingival pain,reduce inflammatory reaction and improve periodontal index.
