Clinical study on the effect of electro-acupuncture at the Bajiao point combined with pelvic floor muscle training in the prevention of postpartum urinary retention in primiparous women undergoing painless delivery
Objective Observation of the clinical effects of electroacupuncture at the Bajiao point combined with pelvic floor muscle training in preventing the effects of postpartum urinary retention in primiparous women giving birth without pain. Methods The 120cases of primigravid women who underwent painless delivery in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of our hos-pital from August 2020to October 2023were divided into two groups by random method, with 60cases in a single group. Both groups were encouraged to have timely water intake and hot compresses on the lower abdomen and sacrococcygeal area after deliv-ery,while the control group was given pelvic floor muscle training for 30min after delivery, and the observation group was inter-vened on the basis of pelvic floor muscle training combined with electroacupuncture on the Bajiao point. The time of the first post-partum urination, the time of the first lactation, and the amount of the first urination were recorded in the two groups, the urody-namic parameters and prolactin levels were detected in the two groups, and the incidence of postpartum urinary retention, urinary incontinence, and urinary tract infections were counted in the two groups, and the differences in SF-36scores were assessed in the two groups. Results The observation group had a shorter time to first urination than the control group,a higher volume of first uri-nation than the control group,a higher maximum urinary flow rate and maximum bladder capacity than the control group,a lower volume of residual urine in the bladder than the control group, and a lower incidence of postpartum urinary retention than the con-trol group, which were different(P<0.05).The scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,ex-cept for the scores of somatic role, social function, and mental health, which were not different from those of the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion Electroacupuncture of the Baresha point combined with pelvic floor muscle training prevents postpartum uri-nary retention in primiparous women giving birth without pain and improves quality of life.
