Study on urine metabolomics of chronic atrophic gastritis and its TCM cold and heat syndrome
Objective:The aim of this study is to analyze the differential metabolites and metabolic pathways in the urine of patients with chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG)compared to a healthy population through Urinary Metabolomics.Subsequently,we elucidate the reasons why Urinary Metabolomics cannot substantiate the material basis for the traditional Chinese medicine differ-entiation of cold and heat syndromes in chronic atrophic gastritis. Methods:Urine samples were collected from chronic atrophic gastritis and healthy volunteers.Quantitative analysis of urine metabolites was conducted using proton nuclear magnetic resonance(1H-NMR).Multivariate statistical analyses, including Principal Component Analysis(PCA),Partial Least Squares Discrimi-nant Analysis(PLS-DA),and Orthogonal Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis(OPLS-DA),were employed.Results:1.Compared with healthy people, the metabolites in urine of CAG patients were mainly related to amino acid metabolism,tricar-boxylic acid cycle and urea cycle.2.The reason why there is no obvious difference in urine metabolites between CAG spleen-stomachdeficiency cold and spleen-stomachdampness-heat syndrome may be related to the characteristics of CAG disease and syndrome, the selection and treatment of urine samples, the dialectical diagnosis and the errors in the experimental process.
