Study on the correlation between TCM syndrome differentiation and serum Hcy,IL-18and miR-124in elderly pa-tients with hypertension
Objective:To investigate the correlation between TCM syndrome differentiation and serum homocysteine(Hcy),in-terleukin-18(IL-18)and microrbonucleic acid(Mir-124)in elderly patients with hypertension.Methods:150 elderly hyperten-sion patients admitted to our hospital from January 2021to December 2023were included as the elderly hypertension group, and 60elderly volunteers who went to our hospital for health examination during the same period were selected as the control group. The relative expression levels of serum Hcy,IL-18and miR-124were compared between the two groups. The TCM syndrome differentia-tion and classification of patients were analyzed, and the general data, relative expression levels of serum Hcy,IL-18and miR-124of patients with different TCM syndrome differentiation and classification were compared. Results:The serum levels of Hcy and IL-18in the elderly hypertension group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the relative expression level of miR-124was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Among 150elderly hypertensive patients, there were 22cases(14.66%)of liver-yang hyperactivity,46cases(30.67%)of phlegm and fluid stagnation, and 82cases(54.67%)of kidney-yin deficiency. The serum levels of Hcy and IL-18in the liver-yang hyperactivity syndrome group were lower than those in the Tanyin inside-stopping syndrome group and the kidney-yin deficiency syndrome group(P<0.05),and the relative expression level of miR-124was higher than that in the other two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:TCM syndrome differentiation and classification of elderly hypertension patients are related to the relative expression levels of serum Hey,IL-18and miR-124,which can be used as an objective index for TCM syndrome differentiation and classification of elderly hypertension patients.
