The characteristics of TCM syndromes in adult patients with bronchial asthma attack and their relationship with miR-155-5p andTreg/Th17cell balance
Objective:To explore the characteristics of TCM syndromes in adult patients with bronchial asthma and its relation-ship with miR-155-5p and Treg/Th17cell balance. Methods:A total of 116adult patients with bronchial asthma who were treated in our hospital and our superior medical consortium hospital from March 2022to February 2024were selected as subjects. The general da-ta of patients,miR-155-5p mRNA,Treg/Th17and related cytokines[interleukin(IL)-17,IL-23]were collected. At the same time, the patients were classified according to TCM syndrome differentiation, and the general data,miR-155-5p,Treg/Th17,IL-17and IL-23levels of patients with different TCM syndromes were compared. Results:The TCM syndromes of 116adult patients with bronchial asthma attack were heat asthma, wind asthma, cold asthma and deficiency asthma, accounting for 34.48%(40/116),31.90%(37/116),22.41%(26/116)and 11.21%(13/116),respectively.Among them, the age of deficiency asthma was higher than that of wind asthma, heat asthma and cold asthma(P<0.05).There was no difference in the course of disease and pul-monary function indexes between patients with different TCM syndromes(P>0.05).There were differences in the levels of miR-155-5p mRNA,Treg/Th17,IL-17and IL-23in patients with different TCM syndromes(P cold asthma>heat asthma>deficiency asthma)(P<0.05).Conclusion:The attack stage of bronchial asthma in adults is dominated by heat asthma and wind asthma. The level of miR-155-5p in patients with wind asthma is increased, and Treg/Th17is imbalanced. Both of them may be used as one of the objective indicators of syndrome type in the attack stage of bronchial asthma in adults.
