Effects of Bazhen Decoction combined with chemotherapy on immune function,cancer-relatedfatigue and serum cyto-kines in patients with breast cancer
Objective:To explore the effects of Bazhen Decoction combined with chemotherapy on immune function,cancer-re-latedfatigue(CRF)and serum cytokines in patients with breast cancer. Methods:A total of 79patients with breast cancer treated in the hospital were enrolled between March 2023and January 2024.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into control group(35cases,chemotherapy with pirarubicin+cyclophosphamide+docetaxel)and treatment group(44cases,Bazhen Decoction on basis of control group). After 8weeks of treatment, clinical curative effect, scores of TCM syndromes,CRF(revised Piper fatigue scale),immune function[induced T cells(CD4+),inhibitory T cells(CD8+),natural killer cells(NK cells)]and cellular inflammatory factors[tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interferon-γ(IFN-γ),interleukin 6(IL-6),interleu-kin-10(IL-10)]were compared between the two groups. The adverse reactions after chemotherapy in the two groups were ob-served.Results:After treatment, there was no significant difference inresponse rate of treatment between treatment group and control group(54.55%vs 42.86%,P>0.05).After treatment, scores of TCM syndromes and CRF were decreased in both groups, which were lower in treatment group than control group(P<0.05).After treatment, levels of CD4+and NK cells were decreased, while CD8+was increased in control group.Treatment groups, levels of CD4+and NK cells were increased, while CD8+was decreased in treatment group(P<0.05).After treatment, levels of TNF-α,IFN-γ,IL-6and IL-10were decreased in both groups, which were lower in treatment group than control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the occurrence of adverse reactions be-tween the two groups after chemotherapy(P>0.05).Conclusion:Bazhen Decoction combined with chemotherapy in breast cancer patients can effectively improve fatigue symptoms, reduce inflammatory response and enhance immune function.
