Abstract
Peer review,based on the perspective of formative assessment,is an effective method that widely applied in English writing classrooms. This paper begins by providing the literature review that relates to this study;then describes how peer review applies in Eng-lish writing classrooms and then evaluates this application in terms of formative assessment;and ends with a conclusion in which the sig-nificance of this exploration will be further highlighted.
