In the era of digitalization,traditional enterprises are faced with a crucial strategic choice:how to strike a balance between reform and stability.The previous studies generally suggest that traditional enterprises tend to emphasize stability,focus on consolidating existing markets and technology,and find it difficult to make self-innovation due to their strong organizational inertia.In practice,traditional enterprises are also actively utilizing digital technology for self-revolution,striving to find a balance point between digital business development and traditional business operation.This research issue has not received sufficient attention and lacks in-depth study.Based on dynamic capability theory and by adopting the case study method,this study explores the specific process of a traditional enterprise expanding its intelligent manufacturing business.A dynamic-stability two quadrant model is proposed,and detailed explanation is given on how traditional enterprises achieve a balance between dynamic reform and stable development,thus revealing the inherent mechanism of digital strategy practice in traditional enterprises.This study expands the application scope of dynamic capability theory,and provides theoretical guidance and practical experience implication for the digital strategy practice of traditional enterprises.
