Design of Reactive Power Compensation for Wind Farms Based on STATCOM
Based on the wind farms,this article points to reactive power compensation devices.To solve the problems of power quality,such as voltage fluctuations or harmonic interference on the low-voltage side,a wind farm reactive power compensation design based on STATCOM is proposed.This scheme achieves line-reactive-power compensation through voltage outer loop and current inner loop control.Hence,experiments are taken to verify this design.A simulation model was built on the MATLAB/SIMULINK platform to verify that the design scheme can effectively cope with voltage fluctuations and stabilize line power.In the actual industry,a±40MVar reactive power compensation device was installed on equipments of an offshore wind farm in Zhejiang.By collecting actual industry data and analyzing it,the results showed that this method can effectively suppress the fifth and seventh harmonics,reduce the total voltage distortion rate,further,improve power quality.Through simulation and on-site experiments,the results show that this method can effectively improve output reactive power compensation,enhance power quality,and has good practical application value.
